Beliefs

A lot of people have been asking me about my religion.  For those of you who are curious, I'm LDS, or a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  You might have heard people of my faith called Mormons.  If you are interested in knowing more about my religion and what we really believe, click this handy little link.

I know that Jesus Christ died for every one of us, and for me personally.  I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and that through the power of a loving Heavenly Father, the fullness of the gospel as it was in Christ's day has been restored to the Earth.  I know that we are all divine sons and daughters of the greatest power to exist, and that as such, every person has eternal potential and is my brother or sister.  I love and support the prophet and apostles, and I know that they have been called of God.  I know that The Book of Mormon is the word of God.  It's purpose is to convince us to come unto Christ.  It testifies of the living Christ.  It is another record of Him and His ministry.  I know that anyone who reads this book with a sincere intent to know the truth will find it within those pages. I want all of my brothers and sisters to feel the joy that this book and this gospel have brought to my life.

I have gone through a difficult personal journey to come to this realization.  It is true.  I cannot deny it.  I cannot pretend that it isn't true.  And more than that, I cannot express to you the immeasurable joy it has brought to my life.

Whoever you are reading this, this gospel is for you.  It's for you because you are of a divine heritage.  You are literally the son or daughter of a king.  I've seen this knowledge change lives.  I've seen it uplift those who have fallen, heal those who thought they were broken beyond repair, give hope to those who would otherwise have given up.  It has done these things for me.  I want you personally to know that it is true, that I know that it is true, and that whoever you are and wherever you are in your life, it will bring you more joy than you ever thought was possible.  You are worth more than you could ever imagine.  The Book of Mormon was written for us in this day.  It is true.  It was written for you.  It will bless your life.

And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.  And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things. (Moroni 10:4-5)

I want to share the joy of this message with you.  I want you to have the same peace and happiness that I have in my life.

Read the book.  Pray about it.  Ponder it.  Ask God for truth.  Do these things and I promise you that you will know, as I know, that it is truly the word of God.

And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall. (Helaman 5:12)
